It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Goertzen (nee McCord) on November 25, 2021, at the age of 79.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie and Vicki (Mike Coulombe); sons, Kenny and Greg (Mandy) Lisenchuk; three grandchildren, Chris, Emily and Eddy: four siblings, Norma, twin Dorothy (Ed) Salamanowicz, Ken (Val) and Heinz (Leanne). Predeceased by husband Ken; mother Pauline Krauss; brothers, George and David; and granddaughter Liz
Betty moved from Winnipeg to Edmonton in 2018 to live with her daughter and get the help she depended on due to the advancement of her disease, Scleroderma.
Betty enjoyed walking either in Portage Place Mall or on The Forks River Walk Trail while living in downtown Winnipeg. She loved nature and enjoyed a trip or two to BC, Arizona and Branson, MI. In the 1990s she and Ken would often drive to their cottage at Kirk Lake which was also near the grade school she attended in Alcona, ON. Her interest and detail for scrapbooking is what kept her occupied nearly to the end and went along with her other passion, listening to her music/videos, from hymns and gospel music to blues, country and old time. A lively tune would bring out a few dance steps now and then.
She was dedicated to her Christian faith and daily walk with God. REST IN PEACE Betty!
There will be no service or Celebration of Life at this time.
