KATHLEEN KELLY
1929 - 2021
In loving memory of Kathleen Louise Kelly, born ninth of 12 children to Robertha Gentle Bartley and Samuel Bartley on March 9, 1929 in Williamsfield, Jamaica.
She grew up in her childhood home and received training as a dressmaker and seamstress in Manchester before immigrating to Canada in 1960 to work for the Eaton family in Winnipeg. Kathleen was then joined in 1961 by Alvin Kelly who became her husband and together they had seven beautiful children.
Despite being a talented dressmaker, seamstress, and art mender, Kathleen found her real calling in having and caring for children.
Mother of Ken, Winston, O'Brian, Abraham, Richard, Sybil, Janis, Rodney, and Marjorie, Kathleen was also cherished by several loving grandchildren and friends.
The last of her siblings, she also leaves behind countless cousins and loved ones in Canada and Jamaica who refer to her as 'Aunt Lynn'.
Surrounded by loved ones for the past several months, Kathleen passed away peacefully at her home in Winnipeg on December 2, 2021.
Our love for Kathleen,
our Mom, is everlasting.
