1945 -2022
Peacefully, at home, Shirley passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022, after a second bout with cancer.
She leaves behind her partner Bob McCormick, who loved and cared for her to the end.
She is survived by her brothers, George (Chris), Donald (Dianne), Glen (Michelle), Gordon (Shelley), and Brian (Janet), and sister Gloria, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley was a long-time member of Gimli Legion and will be sorely missed by all the members and the Executives. She was well known around Gimli, and many friends will be saddened by her passing.
Grateful thanks go to the IERHA Home Care and Palliative Care teams, and the Gimli Health Centre staff who were always there to comfort and care for Shirley.
Due to covid restrictions funeral service will take place in the future.

We met Shirley and Mel many years ago at the Transcona Legion, where she worked as a bar steward. The year they moved to Gimli they came back for the New Years Dace at the branch and spent the night at our home. We went to Gimili a couple times and met up with them but after that we just didn't make the short trip. Shirley had a great personality and I know she will be missed.
