Gertrude Claire Coutu passed away on December 25, 2021.
She was a devoted daughter, a great sister and fabulous aunt who will be fondly remembered as deeply compassionate and creative. These qualities were reflected in her joy of painting, gardening and caring for her family.
We will all treasure the everlasting memories you gave us, with your inventive imagination and your ability to stoke creativity and joy. Showing us endless examples of how nothing can become everything. Loving you always. Forgetting you never.
Family and friends will meet at the grave site for a private service at a later date.
Family and friends may sign a book of condolence at

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Gertie, or Tee Tee as I named her when just learning my words, was my great auntie. She played such a nurturing and loving part in our growth as children and continues to now as well. I wrote this to honour and acknowledge what she has created for me in my life and I'm sure also in the lives of much of our family. Watering my imagination with the magic that flows down back lanes with the rain Carrying sticks and leaves into the the worlds unknown Dark and echoing with the sound of wonder Tending my curiosity with adventures to places I'd never been Seeing sights with eyes full of awe for the fantastical detail we are blind to now Leading us on to hunt for places where treasure hides Stoking my creativity with endless examples of how nothing can become everything Arranging boxes, piling snow, suspending blankets Stories bring them into being Building safe structures for our childhood to live within Will always love you and your beautiful spirit, Sam - Posted by: Samantha (Neice) on: Jan 08, 2022

  • We were close friends through school at Sacre Coeur and later during our double dating years. A few years ago we met for lunch and got together for the last time at our place talking old memories. It seems so long ago. She will forever be in my heart. - Posted by: Rose Marie Eyjolfson (Juskow) (Old Friend) on: Jan 08, 2022
