It is with deep sorrow and love that we mourn the sudden passing of Catherine Orobia Maligaya Gregorio of the City of Winnipeg on January 3, 2022, at the age of 45.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 20 years, Wayne; her children, Wyan and Zyann; her mother, Cornelia Orobia Maligaya; her sister, Appleliza Maligaya Catapang; nephews, Nayel Zayden Catapang and Avenneir Zane Catapang, and her relatives and friends, whom she inspired by her kind heart. Catherine was predeceased by her father, Avelino Maligaya.
Catherine was a doting and devoted mother, wife and daughter. She loved going on trips with her family as quality time with them was very important to her. She was religious, full of life, and thoughtful. She used her talent in arts and crafts to remember family and friends on their special days and always gave her time to others. She took pride in her work as a paralegal and is known by her colleagues to be a reliable problem solver. Catherine was perceptive and empathetic - she possessed the gifts of connecting with people that she encountered and of using her senses to take in the world.
Her memory will be kept alive in the hearts and minds of everyone she touched by her sensitive soul and compassion.

Catherine, we are happy that you are now at peace watching over us. We bid goodbye to a wonderful, beautiful woman.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • My deepest sympathy in the loss of your wife. May God wrap His arms around you and your family and give you comfort. - Posted by: Vernelle Mirosh (Co-Worker of Wayne) on: Jan 11, 2022

  • I’m at a complete loss of Words over the news of Catherine’s passing. I had the privilege of working with her and Wayne and was even tech neighbours living only a few blocks away. She always had a smile and a great sense of humour and often took part in our backroom shenanigans to add some humour to the day. An amazing person, friend, cook, mother, wife and I will always remember our times spent. Sincerest condolences to Wayne and family during this time. Much love - Posted by: Joel P (Former Co-Worker) on: Jan 09, 2022
