Condolences & Memories (24 entries)

  • I want to offer my condolences to Rick’s family for a loss like this that has come way to soon. I got to know Rick mostly through chats at the gym across the street from work at the Fort Garry. I would see Rick there almost every day over lunch and we would often chat. Rick was right into staying in shape and always had a good story to tell. Rick mentioned that he was in the process of building a car at home, corvette if I can recall. We had this in common as I was doing the same at the time. I often wondered if Rick had completed that project. Rick would often mention his boys and how proud he was of how they were doing as well. I also remember the day Rick told me that his wife passed. At that time I could tell Rick was a bit lost, being left to wonder what direction to take in his life now. Rick wasn't one to show much emotion, but I could tell that it was a devastating loss for him and his boys. Rick was tough as a goat on the outside, but certainly was a kind person on the inside and he will be missed. RIP Rick. - Posted by: Robin Betle (Friend) on: Mar 27, 2022

  • Our condolences go out to Matt, Stephen and Justin and their families. Such a shock to hear Rick passed. Such a great guy - big teddy bear - with a one and only personality. So many laughs together and memories throughout the hockey and football days. Enjoyed coaching and the road trips with Rick and the kids. Rick also volunteered a ton of time at Southdale Community Centre. Always wanted to lend a hand. Miss you already Ricky! Give Louise a big hug for us! • Rick was the man!!! A great friend and a proud father. So many good times we had together, at Grand Beach when our kids were young, at Wawanesa, if you need something to get done, Rick was always there. Also outside of work memories of playing together or against each other in baseball or hockey. No matter the outcome, there was so much fun during and after playing. My condolences, Rick will be missed but he will always be in my memories. - Posted by: Bill Brown (Friend) on: Mar 17, 2022
