Peacefully, on Monday, March 14, 2022 Jim Kirkhope passed away with family by his side, at the age of 88 years.
Jim was predeceased by the love of his life, wife Patricia (nee Winberg) in 2013. They shared 60 wonderful years together and Jim was never quite able to overcome the loss of his girl. He will be forever missed by his children, Robert (Darlene), Susan (Rosi) Gigliotti, Debra (Brad Willson); grandchildren, Nikki, Melissa (Kevin), Dallas (Chris), Tia (Denzel), Mario, Julia, Braden; great-grandchildren, Mason and Marcus, brother "Bro" Robert (Carol) Kirkhope and their family.
In 1950 Jim entered an apprenticeship to learn the trade of Pipefitter with the CNR. Here he would spend his career becoming a supervisor. Jim made many friendships that continued even after his retirement in 1990. These past couple years were difficult and he missed meeting with his Saturday morning breakfast crew and coffee with his friends.
Jim had a love of the outdoors and travel, enjoying fishing, camping, time spent at the lake and riding his bicycle. Important to mention was his love of "food", all food, but especially cookies, cakes and hamburgers!
We will forever miss you and hold you close to our hearts. Don't take any wooden nickels!
A celebration of Jim's life will be held with an interment to take place at a later date at Glen Lawn Cemetery.
