HELENE MARIE-JEANNE DELORME
February 20, 1921 April 23, 2022
It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. At the time of her passing, she had her two daughters by her side.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Lester (1960); two eldest daughters, Darlene (1996) and Leslie (2019); and son-in-law Rene (2007). She leaves to mourn her two youngest daughters, Barbara (Jim) and Catherine (Richard); grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Our Mom was the last of her family to pass. We were truly blessed to have had our mother with us for so long. She recently celebrated her 101st Birthday. What an accomplishment! She has gone to be reunited with the love of her life, our Dad and her two oldest daughters. We believe Dad is waiting with open arms to hold her again. Our sisters and her mother who she adored will also be waiting in line.
Mom had a very full life. After our father passed away at a very early age she had to find a job to provide for her four daughters. She began employment at St. Boniface Hospital in the Housekeeping Department. She worked her way up through the years to be a Supervisor of Housekeeping. She took great pride in her accomplishments. Mom was employed there until her retirement in October 1986. After that, she kept herself busy and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She stayed very active and fit going for walks all the time. She loved her walks; even when she began using a walker she was fast on her feet. You would turn around for a moment and she was gone. When she traded in her walker for a wheelchair she quickly learned how to maneuver that.
Mom worked very hard all her life. She had very strong values which she instilled in her daughters and grandchildren.
In her later years, Mom became known for her real sense of humour. She could make you laugh! She was known to be feisty, also called a rebel on occasion. She told you like it was! We shall miss that. We have our memories which we will hold close to our hearts. Love you Always and Forever, Mom. Xoxoxoxoxoxoxox.
At this time the family would like to thank the first floor staff at Actionmarguerite on River Road for all the kindness, love, and compassion they showed our mother over the last ten years. We indeed witnessed this in her final days when staff dropped in to share their stories about her. It was truly appreciated. It touched our hearts.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Granma; Nanna is what had to call her as she said grandma made her feel old, was an inspiration in her zest for life! She beat the game of "Life" being the last one standing of all her 8 siblings! Yaaaaa! She will always be in our hearts! Just a few years ago she try to teach me a few french words and to her I wasn't saying it correctly. She was asking me why I was so stubborn! Huh? Not that I wasn't trying to be stubborn, however, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree eh? Love your granddaughter Leanne❤️say hi to my mom for me!! 😘😇💖 - Posted by: Leanne Hattie (Granddaughter) on: Apr 30, 2022
