It is with hearts full of gratitude for a life well lived that we mourn the death of Valel "Val" Tharian Chacko who died on Saturday, May 28, 2022, age 87. Valel was given the birthdate of October 1, 1935, when he was born in Ranni, Kerala, India.
He is survived by his wife, Vedavally "Veda"/ "Vally" to some, daughter Ida-Lynn Gregan (Larry), son Stephen Chacko (Suzanne), along with siblings, Annamma "Penamma" John (P. John, deceased), Joy Valel (Mariamma), Thomas "Tom Thomas" Valel (Alice), George Valel (Kunjamma), Bavy Valel, Alex "Thankachen" Valel (Cicely), Thankamma Joykutty (Joykutty), sister-in-law Thankamma Mathai; grandchildren, Amanda and Nolan Gregan, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He is predeceased by his father Chacko Tharian and mother Alyamma Tharian, and siblings, Kunjamma Chacko, Mathai "Podikunju" Valel, Abraham "Kunjavarachen" Valel, and Kunjumon.
Funeral service for Valel will be held at Elim Chapel, 546 Portage Ave., Monday, June 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Cemetery.

We admired Val's deep faith and how his life reflected it. I greatly appreciated working with Val. Although Veda we have not visited together for a long time Wanda &I remember the most pleasant times we had. Grace and Peace to you at this time of sadness.
