DANIEL MARVIN WARWARUK
Daniel (Danny) Marvin Warwaruk peacefully passed away at the age of 77 on September 1, 2022, while in the comfort of Acacia Ty Mawr Care Home, in Shawinigan Lake, BC.
He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, Jan (Patricia) Warwaruk; their children, Scott Warwaruk (Kim), Shauna Tait (Kris), Robyn Warwaruk Rogers (Mark); and his granddaughters, Samara, Evangeline, and Lilyanna Rogers, and Layla and Marley Tait.
Danny was born on November 10, 1944, in Winnipegosis, MB to Peter and Helen Warwaruk. He grew up in a large, loving Ukrainian family with two brothers, Paul and Michael and one sister Florence.
He enjoyed hard work growing up on the farm and developed a strong work ethic which he leveraged throughout his career. Danny was passionate about hockey, which he played and coached well into his 40s. Danny was an entrepreneur, and he took great pride in building and expanding his business ventures. He had a huge heart and his greatest source of happiness was providing a comfortable life for his wife and children. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. In his later years he enjoyed living on Vancouver Island, playing golf, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his sister Florence (Walter) Lesiuk, Michael (Peggy) Warwaruk, brother-in-law Dave (Diane) Lamsdale, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Paul Warwaruk, father Peter Warwaruk, and mother Helen Warwaruk.
The family would especially like to thank Dr. Reynolds, Dr. G. Leong and the staff of Acacia Ty Mawr who provided exceptional care at the end of his life.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
A special thank you to brother and sister-in-law Dave and Diane Lamsdale for all the extra support during the last few years. As well, the family would like to thank their extended family and numerous friends across Canada that have supported Danny on his journey.
As per Danny's wishes a funeral will not take place. Condolences to the family can be made at:

I was saddened to hear of Danny’s passing and offer my condolences to his family and dear friends. I worked with Danny at CMHC many years ago in a department that traveled the north to many First Nations. I was amazed at the number of people that Danny knew. For a relatively quiet and reserved man he was very friendly and warm and people were drawn to him. He was always willing to lend a hand to new staff and share his knowledge and expertise. He was very well versed in many areas whether it be construction, financial and he always got the job done. I recall years ago Danny and his family spent a week at my cottage at Winnipeg Beach. Even though I locked up the lawn mower and tools Danny found a way to do some minor repairs (that I didn’t notice until they were fixed lol). And the grass had never been cut to such perfection lol. I cannot imagine how empty the family must feel without Danny. I can imagine him up above organizing and continuing to get things done. Rest In Peace Danny! - Posted by: Linda Schram (Coworker at CMHC) on: Sep 10, 2022
