DR. ROBERT K. SPRINGER (BOB)(TAZ)

SPRINGER: It is with great sadness that we announce Dr. Robert K. "Bob" Springer (aka Taz), husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, professor, and mentor, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Sharon; children Jennifer (Mark) Hannesson, Toby Springer, Angie (Lyle) Preston and Kelly (Steve) Beaumont; grandchildren Bailey, Matthew, Claire, Benjamin and Lily; and siblings Jack (Leah) Springer, Linda McAmmond and Rick (Kristin) Springer. Bob was born December 6, 1943 in Guelph, ON. He grew up in Winnipeg, MB and gained the majority of his secondary education in Davis, CA. He moved to Brandon, MB and began his career with Brandon University in the Department of Geology in 1971. His life was filled with family, friends, and students. He thoroughly enjoyed the comradeship that rec hockey and baseball leagues provided. Bob loved his extensive travels with Sharon, camping and fishing with friends and family, and living life to its fullest. He made friends everywhere he went. Special thanks to staff at Western Manitoba Cancer Centre and Brandon Regional Health Centre for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Western Manitoba Cancer Centre, c/o BRHC Foundation, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB R7A 2B3. A private Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at a later date.
