JEANNE MARIE BAUDRY
1928 - 2022

Jeanne Baudry (nee Delorme) left us a "Valley of Memories" as she departed this world on September 24, 2022.
Our sweet Maman was predeceased by her loving husband, Henri, and many siblings and siblings-in-law. She is survived by her seven children and their partners, Richard (Gloria), Marilyne (Steve), Annette (Alex), Denis (Kim), Gilbert (Sharon), Alain (Linda), Renee (Steve); as well as 22 grandchildren, Steven, Patricia, Greg, Alison, Nelson, Curtis, Samantha, Jason, Stephen, Matthew, Diane, Aurele, Adrienne, Katie, Rachel, Christine, Jeanne, Patrick, Donald, Lindsy, Alex, Sophie and their significant others, many great-grandchildren, the last being born shortly after Maman started her journey upwards, passing each other in the tunnel of life and exchanging a warm embrace before continuing onto their destiny.….also by her siblings and her in-loves….
Jeanne was born on June 4, 1928 to Euclide and Julia (Parent) Delorme. She was the eldest girl of a family of 16 children, eight boys and eight girls. She would often say they were packed like sardines in their small farmhouse. She grew up in the small farming community of St. Joseph, Manitoba. Being the eldest girl, Maman acquired her Grade Eight education and then helped her mother, Julia, in the home doing many chores as well as caring for her siblings. At the age of 18, she went to work near a farm in Ste. Agathe and this is where the love affair started between her and her betrothed, Henri. It took four years of courting, but Henri won out and on September 29, 1951, they were married. The adventure started in the little white house on "La Belle Riviere" Rouge, a home they stayed in and renovated for their growing family and enterprise until 1994. At that time, they moved to Ste. Agathe in a home they designed until Henri's death in 2012. In 2013, Maman took residence in Niverville at the Personal Care Home where she kissed many hands and thanked them for the wonderful attention given to her until her death.
Maman was a hard worker, from the beet fields to the farm to the construction, and Henri knew he had a great running mate and supporter. Without her, Henri could not have accomplished the success in farming and in business that he did. They were visionaries, having both been born just prior to the dirty '30s, they saw in their lifetime so many changes and they strived to survive and succeed. To this end, they established a thriving road construction company, H. Baudry Construction (1980) Ltd. as well as a multi use farm which included minks, pigs, chickens and finally, crop farming. Slowly, steadily, they grew these businesses as well as their family, always looking for opportunities to better themselves and their children.
Family, Faith, and Friends were always first and foremost in Henri and Jeanne's lives. They demonstrated this by opening their home to all and their kindness radiated throughout their lives. Maman continued to spread this love until the week before she passed as she kissed the hands that tended to her. She so appreciated the attention and love of the many who visited.
We would like to thank all the staff at the Niverville Personal Care Home and Father Gregory for their steadfast attention especially through the years of COVID.

Funeral Mass in celebration of Jeanne's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 29, 2022 at the Ste. Agathe Roman Catholic Church with interment immediately following. Reception to follow.
