ALEX WUSATY


Peacefully on Sunday, December 18, 2022, Alex, beloved husband of Marilyn, passed at Concordia Hospital with family by his side.
Alex was born in Libau, Manitoba on October 8, 1932. Alex was predeceased by his father Martin, mother Irene and his first wife Lucille.
Alex is survived by his son Craig, his sister Joan Kieruluff and her family and will be greatly missed by his wife Marilyn, stepdaughter Rhona Kretchmer, stepson Doug Kretchmer and grand-bird Billie (Parrot), granddaughters, Heather and Erika, great-grandsons, Karl and Vaughn as well as in-laws, Patsy Hadden, Joan and Norm Woodward, Bruce and Laurie McCorrie and Donna McPherson.
Alex worked for the Manitoba Hydro for 43 years and retired at the age of 60.
Alex enjoyed curling and his team members at the Transcona Curling Club for many years. Alex loved cars especially his 1959 Thunderbird which he drove in the annual Hi Neighbour Festival Parade. Alex was an active member in his community and loved gardening in his yard in his home in Transcona for 58 years. Alex was an Elder and active member in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for many years.
The family would to thank the staff at the Concordia Hospital N1 Unit and Winnipeg Health home care aides that cared for him in his home for the past year.
Please join the family at All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 1500 Day Street on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow in Green Acres. Friends may join the family at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street for a reception following the interment.
