EDITH URSEL LEHMANN
It is with great sadness that on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the age of 93, Edith Ursel Lehmann went to be with our Lord. She was predeceased by her husband Kurt in 1991.
Edith leaves behind her daughter Judy (Doug), grandchildren, Evan and Mallory (Chris) and great-grandson Kaiden, Lothar and Hilde Lehmann in Ottawa and numerous relatives in Germany, as well as many friends here.
Edith was born February 26, 1929 in Birkenwerder, Germany. She immigrated to Canada in 1953. After a few years she took bookkeeping at Success Business College and started at Swears and Wells Furriers.
The business changed owners to Steen and Wright Furriers and she became manager. She worked there for 30 years until retiring in 1989 to their house on the Winnipeg River outside Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba. She was very happy there and very active with her German shepherd and her garden.
She helped at the local food bank and a few years later she was very active at her Church, Whiteshell Baptist where she, her daughter Judy and her granddaughter Mallory were baptized in the Whiteshell River in 1999. She moved back to an apartment in Winnipeg in 2008 and then to assisted living in 2021 until her passing.
She was a loving, caring, and strong-willed woman who loved helping people her whole life. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Camp Nutimik.

I’m so sorry to hear of Edith’s passing. I got to know her through my dad, Harold Daudrich, playing many games with her when visiting in Winnipeg. Edith was a wonder steward of our Lord and opened her table for a meal whenever I was in town. She will be missed.. My deepest condolences to Judy, Doug, Mallory, and Evan, as well as all other family members. Mrs. Lehmann was a wonderful woman and I will greatly miss her. Judy and I have been close friends for 60 years, since grade school. Mrs. Lehmann would always make wonderful German desserts which taste delicious. I remember times we spent at the lake as well as other adventures. Mrs. Lehmann provide the toast to the bride at my wedding too. Rest in peace! - Posted by: Christine Davis (Family Friend) on: Jan 15, 2023
