RITA WENDELIN SCHINDEL

With great sadness, we announce Rita's passing on January 19, 2023, in Winnipeg, at the age of 94 years.
She is survived locally by her brother Tom (Adeline); her great-nieces, Jay-Ann (Bruce), Robyn (Larry), and their families. She is also remembered by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and their families all across Canada.
She was predeceased by her life partner Cecil Jarvis; her parents, Christian and Katharina (née Schnell); and her siblings, Roy, Ben, Ruth, Blanche, Ernie, Clarence, Cecilia, and Violet.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, January 27 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at The Westhaven in the Windsor Room (3033 Portage Avenue). Family interment will follow at a later date.
The family thanks all healthcare staff that helped care for Rita over the past few years, as well as all the staff at the Westhaven. Rita considered this her home for many years and made many lasting friendships there.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rita's name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Portage la Prairie Chapter, 306 E. Saskatchewan Avenue East, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0K8 (1-204-239-1308) or to a charity of your choice.
