(VAN DE WEGHE)


It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mom and grandma on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the St. Boniface Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband William; her parents, John and Georgina; her brother Marcel, sisters-in-law Fern and Brenda, her sister Louise, brother-in-law Jules; nephews, Dennis and Randy. She will be remembered by her children, Christine (Ernie), Russell, Janice (Stewie), Anthony, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and a large extended family and friends.
Mom was born in St. Boniface on May 28, 1930. She enjoyed many pastimes such as cross stitch, reading, gardening, bingo, computer games and activities with her seniors groups. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and friend. She loved family gatherings, and she treasured any time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the staff in the Palliative care program and at St. Boniface Hospital who cared for Mom during her illness,
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends wishing to attend virtually may do so at: https://afterword.com/stories/margaret-payjack.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Margaret's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.

  • I remember Margaret, as being one of my most loyal customers when I did her hair, for so many years at Columbus Manor. She was such a sweet lady, and always spoiling me at Christmas with her baking and she was most generous with her gifts. She was such a beautiful lady.
