ALLAN EVALD EKLUND
September 24, 1924 - January 30, 2023
Allan was born in Lillesve, Manitoba to Martin Torgerson Eklund and Amanda Sandberg.
He is survived by his children, Susan (Bruce) McKenzie, Kelwyn (Irmgard) Eklund and Kathleen (Bob) Jackson, and eight grandchildren, Scott, Tami, Kaitlyn, James, Britta, Matt, Joel and Chris, and seven great-grandchildren, Kate, Nixon, Finn, Sam, Jake, Isaiah and Bridget.
He is predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Audrey, his granddaughter Marit, all his siblings, Ann, Victor, Robert, Gunner, Olie, and Lloyd, and his nieces, Donna, Lynn, Patricia and nephews, Jim, Robert, Tom and Dave.
Dad grew up ice fishing with his father and brothers and joined the Army during the Second World War to be with his brothers who he loved dearly. On return, he worked many jobs until he joined the CNR and became a locomotive engineer for 40 years. Summers were spent at the lake in the Whiteshell, where he worked very hard to give us everything we wanted and needed.
Dad, we will miss you so very much but we have so many great memories and were blessed to have you in our lives for so long.
Celebration of Life will be planned for July 2023.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

Ten years ago I worked at a pharmacy in Southdale, and I can recall Mr. Eklund as being one of our favourite customers. He was a wonderful man, so very friendly, and just a pleasure to serve. It was always nice to see him. Condolences to his family. May the thought of him being reunited with his wife and other loved family members lessen your grief. Rest in peace Mr. Eklund. - Posted by: Bradley Pisiak (acquaintance) on: Feb 11, 2023
