MARGARETA KLASSEN
Margareta passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ her at the age of 91 (August 19, 1931) at Bethania Personal Care Home.
Margareta was predeceased by her husband Abraham (May 2, 2001). She also leaves behind her children, Ben (Tina), Dave (Angie), Willy (Heather), Tony (Hedy) and Hilda (Wilbert); along with grandchildren, Julia, Christine, Melanie, Travis, Jason, Zacharia and Jeramia.
Margareta grew up in Paraguay, where she met and married her husband of 45 years, Abraham. They moved their family to Canada in 1978. They built their new life in Canada together while continuing to visit Paraguay at every opportunity. When Abraham's health started to decline in the mid 1990s they decided to move back home to be closer to family.
Margareta always kept an impeccable yard and garden. You would never find anything out of place, and she took great pride in her work. She would make a point for the grandchildren to touch her shirt to see how much she had sweat while working.
When she wasn't hard at work outdoors, she enjoyed crocheting and her favourite projects were doilies which she would give to anyone that wanted one. She will also be remembered for her love of baking. Her favourite would have been a tie between her Syrup Cookies and her Ringle Cookies!
When her health started to decline in 2018 she wasn't able to crochet or bake anymore. However, this did not stop her from reminiscing about all the amazing projects she had done in her younger years. Margareta was always proud of her work.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Bethania Personal Care Home and for their loving care of our Mother and Grandmother.
