LORRAINE HELEN SCHMORN

It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of Lorraine Helen Schmorn on Sunday, February 19, 2023, after a brief illness.
Lorraine was born on May 29, 1940 and lived her entire life in Winnipeg raising four children, Debbie, Kathy (Rick), Tracy (Jeff) and Roger Jr. (Joanne) who gave her the gifts of nine grandchildren, Blaine (Derek), Sherise (Chris), Steven, Ivory, Sara, Meghan, Amber, Jared and Ethan plus five great-grandchildren, Meadow, Brody, Lucas, Hadley, and Beck. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Roger Sr. in 2003 and her sister Phyllis Henrickson in 2019.
Lorraine loved spending time with her family, her friends, reading detective books, going to the casino when she could, eating her favourite foods and enjoying life in her own way with a deep love of hockey, especially Jet's games. There never was a bingo game Lorraine didn't like. Lorraine was also well known for spreading the joy of Christmas each year by baking and giving away her infamous Christmas Bricks (Cinnamon Loaves), a tradition the family carries on to this day.
The family is grateful to and says thank you to all the staff at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home for their care of Lorraine over the years and to the doctors, nurses and caregivers at St. Boniface Hospital who took great care of her and provided tremendous comfort during her short stay.
The family would also like to thank all our friends and family members who offered their support and prayers.
A funeral service will take place at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church (3597 Main St., West St. Paul) on Tuesday, February 28 for 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the charity of your choice.

We love you Mom, and we will miss you. You fought the good fight.

Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. May the soul of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
