KAYE SNATENCHUK

The world lost a shining presence on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, when my beautiful Mother, Kaye, died peacefully after a short illness in Winnipeg.
Born in Rosefield, Saskatchewan, to Ksenia (Catherine) Bzdel and Michael Karalash, she and her sisters, Julie Belinski and Mary Swiderski (predeceased) and brother John Karalash moved around Saskatchewan and Manitoba finally settling in Winnipeg. Mom met William (Metro Bill) Snatenchuk, married in 1955, and his passion for life and her adventurous spirit made for a beautiful life together.
Kaye is survived by her daughter Kerilee and son-in-law Lou, her brother John (Stephie), grandchildren, Oliver and Sofia, step-grandchildren, Louis and Ethan, many nieces and nephews and an abundance of close friends.
A celebration of Kaye's life will be held on Monday, March 13 at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic in Winnipeg, MB at 10:00 a.m. Lunch and Celebration of Life to follow in the church basement. This obituary may also be viewed at Korban.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I was so deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Kaye. I golfed with Kaye a number of times in the Good Neighbours Golf League. She was always willing to help me out when I needed help with registering people for the hole assignments. Rest in peace dear Kaye. You will be missed. - Posted by: Anna Sanduliak (Good Neighbours Golf Group) on: Mar 14, 2023

  • Living on Waugh Road was a wonderful time in my life. We were all working parents at the time and had little opportunity to get to know each other well. But keeping the connection over the later years put Kaye and I back in touch at the Good Neighbours Golf group. We enjoyed many outings, foursomes at local golf courses and enjoying our retirement years. She was always so cheerful, kind and good company. I will miss her terribly this summer. I will be unable to attend the service as I am testing positive for Covid the last 2 days. My thoughts are with Kerilee and her family. - Posted by: Sheila Byers (Neighbour, golf partner) on: Mar 12, 2023

  • So sorry to hear of Kaye's passing. My grandparents Baba and Digo (Tom and Marcia Ewashko) were lifelong friends of Kaye and Bill. On behalf of my parents Ron & Val Ewashko and myself I would like to send our deepest sympathies and condolences to you and your family on your loss. Fond memories will last forever, memories that will always remain in our hearts to cherish forever. - Posted by: June Ewashko (Family friend) on: Mar 11, 2023
