DARLENE LORETTE KING

On March 1, 2023, at the age of 80, Darlene Lorette King passed away at the Grace Hospital.
Darlene was predeceased by her parents, Bjorn and Johanna Hjorleifson and nephew Terry Johnson.
Darlene will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by husband Robert; and daughters, Dawn (Hugh), Sharon and Teresa; grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth and Aaron; great-granddaughter Gemma; sisters, Gloria, Linda (Ron), Brenda (Harry), Kathy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born August 26, 1942 on a farm just outside of Riverton, Manitoba, at the age of nine Darlene's family moved to Riverton where she finished her schooling. Later moving to Gimli for work she met her future husband Robert. They were married on December 2, 1961. They travelled with the Air Force to numerous locations in Canada and Europe retiring in Winnipeg.
Darlene's artistic abilities were obvious from the many paintings and drawings she left for us to enjoy.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff on the 5th Floor of the Grace Hospital for their excellent care during Darlene's last days.
If anyone wishes to honour her memory, donations may be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation, Children's Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
