We were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of dear Joanie’s passing. Wally and Joan were the first neighbours in Pelican Beach to make us feel like we belonged in Gimli! Before long, we established a close friendship and Richard always said Wally was his brother from another mother! We golfed together, partied together and shared our sorrows together! Joanie always said she was Richard’s secretary. Words can not express the sorrow we feel, but, we know that Wally has a twinkle in his eye now that Joanie is with him again. Brandt, Diane and families, we send our most sincere condolences to you all. Hugs from Gimli! - Posted by: Richard and Betty Ducheck (Friends from Pelican Beach, Gimli) on: Apr 08, 2023

Life long family friend to the Hicks, you will be sadly missed. To Brant and Dianne, our family sends there condolences. Joan, may you rest in peace, now that you are reunited with Wally and the old AC gang. So glad I was in contact with your mom these last few years as my mother's health failed. You will be remembered. The Hicks family. - Posted by: kelly hicks (neighbor/ friend) on: Mar 18, 2023

Auntie Joan was much loved by our family, with her outgoing personality, commitment to family, and love of anything fun. We will be forever grateful for her being in our lives. Sending much love and sympathies to our dear cousins, Brant and Diane, and their families. Hope to be with you in August. - Posted by: Carol Baker (Niece) on: Mar 18, 2023
