RONALD WALTER LIEVIN DE MAN
Peacefully with family by his side Ronald (Ron) Walter Lievin De Man passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on February 23, 2023, at the age of 76 years. He is predeceased by his father Lievin (Bill), sister Donna and mother Olga.
He will be deeply missed by sisters Grace and Diana, former co-workers (Supercrete/Lafarge) and his "clan" of friends.
Ron was a sportsman all through his life. He played hockey, curling, fastball, slow-pitch, and golf. Teams Ron was a member of won National Championships and he was awarded the Province of Manitoba Sport Excellence Award twice.
"Doc" or "Deemer", as he was known by his friends, was a natural organizer. From sports pools to organizing golf getaways he was the master planner. The annual Rod and Iron Tourney, which he was instrumental in organizing and running, is still legendary after 50 years.
To his family, he was the big brother you could confide in, chat with about anything and the purveyor of bad puns and jokes. Loyal and supportive and yet sure to tell you when you were going astray. There when you needed him. Quietly strong. Fiercely private. Great brother, good friend, good soul.
Doc, Deemer was truly one of the best people you could have in your life. He will be sadly missed by all.
Cremation has already taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held April 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., at South Osborne Legion 3rd floor.
Heartfelt thanks from his family to his doctors and the staff on the 8th floor of St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional care.
If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Ron to the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Shocked to hear of Deemer's passing. A true friend to have in your corner. An honest man who told you like it was. So knowledgeable in any sport. Had many hockey pools with him years ago. Condolences to your family. RIP my friend. Daryle Kaskiw - Posted by: Daryle Kaskiw (Friend) on: Mar 25, 2023
