CHARLES WALTER BURGESS
February 27, 1933 - March 9, 2023

On Thursday, March 9, 2023 Charles (Bud) passed into the hands of his Lord at 12:10 a.m. He is now reunited with his wife, Leah.
Left to cherish his memory is his only child, Sandra, son-in-law, Robert Ferens, grandsons, Randy and Anthony.
Charles was born in Winnipeg February 27, 1933. He lived with his mom, Min and grandparents, William and Beatrice Simpson. His uncles gave him the nickname, Bud, because he was their buddy.
Tommy Burgess married Min and adopted Charles in 1941. They lived in Nova Scotia during the war. A few years after Min remarried, Charles went back to live with his grandparents and later his aunt Jessie.
Charles met Leah, his wife for almost 62 years, at Wiggins Systems. They married in 1953. They built their first home on Sherburn St. They had one daughter, Sandra. Charles worked at CNR until his retirement in 1990. His CNR co-workers know him as Charlie.
Charles was a hardworking, generous, devoted husband, dad, and grandfather. His daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons were his pride and joy. He took great pleasure in helping others. Family gatherings, dinners, holidays, and activities were joyous occasions. He will be remembered for his friendliness, positivity, generosity, his energy, his joy of life, his love for Christ, and his hard work ethics. Charles lived to serve the Lord and to look after his family.
We would like to thank the staff at St. Norbert and River Park Gardens Personal Care Homes for their dedication, hard work, and care. Special thanks to all our friends and family for their prayers and support.
A celebration of Charles' life will be held at Albright Church, 415 Maxwell Drive ,East St. Paul on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
Donations can be made to CancerCare and to Albright Church building fund.

If there ever comes a day when we cannot be together, keep me in your heart, I shall stay there forever. Love Bud
