RICHARD EDGAR KINZEL

On Friday, March 17, 2023, at the age of 92, Richard Edgar Kinzel passed away peacefully in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
He was born on January 5, 1931 in Rhein, Saskatchewan. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Emilie Kinzel, a brother Arnold and two sisters, Irene and Wilhelmine. He will be missed by his wife of 70 years, Lillian, daughter Ruth Hessmann (Ray), son Mark Kinzel (Leslie) and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
For over 91 years, Dad had an active and fulsome life with his family, as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was admitted to hospital in December. In March, he moved to the Revera Heritage Lodge Long Term Care Home. As a family we were able to visit daily and were with him up until just a few hours prior to his passing.
Many thanks to the wonderful care of the staff at the Victoria Hospital and the Heritage Lodge.
While we are saddened, we also know that Dad's last few weeks had been difficult for him. He was ready to rest and confident in his faith in the Lord. Dad requested that we not have a funeral, for he shared with us, "For whatever I may have done for others, I have already received much in return." We will honour his wishes. The family will host a gathering for family and friends to pay respect for his wonderful life.
