LENA L. COTE
December 1, 1945 - March 25, 2021
Two years ago today we suffered a huge loss to our family. Her departure left a lot of sad hearts that we have been steadily patching up with all the wonderful memories of her. She was an amazing teacher with a passion for education and her family. She enjoyed visiting and hosting barbecues for her family, relaxing with her computer games and a cigarette, traveling to watch powwows with her relatives at Rolling River First Nation and Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, and the occasional substitute teaching at Waywayseecappo School where she retired from after 35+ years of educating generations of families.
Our daily lives have changed forever since that cold March morning. We can't just go over to your house, or pick up a phone to call or text you anymore. We all still turn towards your direction when we want to share something with you; news, sorrow, grief, happiness, or just to say hi. Even though you have gone ahead, we're still here, living off the love and memories you left, and we would never wish you back here because we know you are free, free from all pain and sickness. We love you forever and miss you always.
Until we meet again...
