GERARD EMILE ANSEEUW

The family is saddened to announce the passing of Gerard (Gerry) Anseeuw, formerly of Oak Bluff, Manitoba. Gerry passed away on January 17, 2023, just 3 days shy of his 93rd birthday.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 70 years Phyllis (nee Gobert); daughter Bonnie (Melinda); sons, Willie (Michelle), Jamie, Mark (Anita), Danny (Roslynn); 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Sister Anna Boel; sisters-in-law, Gwen Anseeuw, Lil Gobert; and brother-in-law Willie Gobert (Irma); and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
Gerry was predeceased by his sisters, Mary (George Taillieu) and Malvina (Don Acheson); his brothers, Joseph (Doreen), twin brother Laurent, Peter (Frankie) and Andre; sister-in-law Helen Frost; brothers-in-law, Paul Boel, George Gobert and Jerry Gobert.
To capture Gerry's life in a few paragraphs and do it justice is not possible. Through the 70 years of a loving marriage and raising five children, many memories, events and stories have been created and shared amongst those who knew him. Next to his family, the purchase, growth and success of the farm was a significant cornerstone in Gerry's life. His ability to innovate, build or refine whatever was required to accomplish a task, whether it be for the farm, or just for fun, was a quality many admired. Gerry was an active member of the Oak Bluff community, and was proud to be one of the many who helped construct the Oak Bluff Arena and hall. Quite an accomplishment for such a small community. He contributed to the growth and maturity of many young people through teaching 4H and guiding them through their snowmobile racing endeavours. He was proud of their success. He was a life-long faithful church attendee and spent many years as a Jet, Goldeye and Blue Bomber supporter. The decades of hunting, fishing and travelling resulted in many friends and relationships which he cherished. So many memories.
Gerry's life was a "Life Well Lived" and he will be dearly missed.
Dad loved a good party so please take the time to join us in celebrating all that was his life on Saturday April 8, 12:00 p.m., at the Gates on Roblin, 6945 Roblin Blvd.
