It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Christine (Krystyna) Ferraro on April 26, 2023, at the age of 72. Christine died suddenly in her home in Winnipeg, MB with her family by her side.
Christine is survived by her husband of 50 years Antonio Ferraro, daughter Marla (Dan) and grandson Matthew, daughter Melissa, daughter Miranda (Greg); sister Danuta and brother-in-law Terry Ferraro and their children: Maria, Annette (Chris) and niece Annika, Robert (Niamh) and nephews, Ben and Jack; nephew Wes; niece Malgosia (Czarek) and grandniece Celine; nephew Piotr (Lidia) and niece Natalia; and many more dear relatives and friends. Christine is predeceased by her parents, Marian and Maria, brother Jerzy (Wanda), and sister Marysia (Leszek).
Christine was born in Poland and immigrated to Winnipeg at the age of 11. Christine went on to marry the love of her life, Antonio, in Winnipeg where they raised their three daughters, Marla, Melissa, and Miranda. Christine excelled in school and her career before dedicating herself to raising her children in the most loving and attentive way as a stay-at-home mom. Her support and loving devotion to her husband and children never waivered throughout her life, and her grandson Matthew was her absolute pride and joy. Christine was the kindest, most loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Christine was truly amazing and inspiring. Christine displayed amazing strength and resilience as a four-time breast cancer survivor. She fought through many health battles in life with true courage and grace because she was determined to survive for her family.
Christine was such an impressive source of knowledge and wisdom and was a great source of advice and comfort. She loved the beauty and peacefulness of nature. Christine absolutely loved spending time talking and laughing with family and friends, and her smile, laughter and grace were truly heartwarming. Christine’s love, compassion, kindness and generosity touched countless lives.
Christine leaves her family and friends with a lifetime of love and beautiful memories that will forever be deeply cherished.
A private service will be held by the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Christine’s memory to Make-A-Wish Canada (makeawish.ca).
