KRYSTYNE MELESKO

June 15, 1946 – April 29, 2023

Krystyne passed away peacefully in her long-time Charleswood home in Winnipeg. She is now reunited with her husband Ernie, who passed away in 2016.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughters, Chantell (Leonard) and Tammy; her grandchildren, Kaitlin, Rebecca, Phil, Georgia, Annabelle and Lena and her grand-cat Tulip. She is also survived by her sister Donna (Wayne), brother Ted, sisters-in-law, Linda (George), Pat (Jack) and brother-in-law Alex as well as nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Born in Germany, she immigrated as a young child with her parents to Canada and grew up in Red Lake, ON. For many years she worked for Safeway at the MacDonald’s Consolidated warehouse.

As a proud mother and grandmother, Baba loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, baking and summers with family at Spruce Sands trailer resort. In retirement, Ernie and Krystyne spent their winters in Arizona.

She had a wide circle of friends whom she spoke with frequently and established lifetime connections with her Beta Sigma Phi sorority sisters.

A sincere thank you to her health care team who helped her over the last few years.

A memorial service will be held Monday, May 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Diabetes Canada.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Krystyne and Ernie are life time friends, as teenagers and for all walks. Stayed at their cottage many times. Most hospitable and genuine friends one could ever have. Rock solid values, significant contributors to the best fabric of Canada. My keepsake photos are treasures. - Posted by: JOHN HRYHORKA (Lifetime friend @ Red Lake) on: May 23, 2023
