On May 21, 2023, at 59 years of age, Darell passed away at the Palliative Care Unit in St. Boniface Hospital.
Darell was born in Eriksdale, MB on January 30, 1964, the 15th child of George and Anora Murphy. He married Sharon Bunio on December 7, 1985 in Winnipeg, MB.
Darell and Sharon started their life together in Winnipeg and raised their family in Winnipeg and Oakbank.
Darell enjoyed many activities including camping, crafting canes, making sausage, working on vehicles and was a vintage car enthusiast. He was the primary caregiver for his kids.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Stephanie and Jeff (AJ); chosen kids, Mel (Dave), Chris (Nikki), Trevor, and Garrett (Lisa); four grandchildren; siblings, Lavern (Donna), Lynn, Lyle, Larry, Keith (Deb), Elaine, Carol, Pat, and Sylvia; along with many nieces and nephews. Darell is predeceased by his parents, George and Anora, and siblings, David, Lynda, Dawn, and Sandra.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave., with luncheon to follow at Grace Canadian Reformed Church, 730 Pandora Avenue W.
Special thanks to the Palliative Care team at St. Boniface Hospital for their wonderful care and support and for keeping him comfortable.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
