I was so sorry to hear of Irene's passing. I recall many social gatherings hosted by Irene and Ernie with friends from Morris. They were such a gracious host and hostess and will surely be missed by their wonderful family. - Posted by: Bernice Heinrichs (Friend) on: Jun 06, 2023

I will always remember Irène's warm smile and calm voice...a life well lived and the last one of René and Marie's children...one that I did not know as well but nevertheless a cousin... - Posted by: Suzanne Tkach (cousine) on: Jun 03, 2023

I am so sorry to hear that Aunty Irene passed away. When my sister Michele called to tell me, I shared a story with her. Yesterday while refilling bottled water in south St. Vital, I saw a woman who looked just like Aunty Irene’s younger mid-life self. In my mind, I said: “She sure looks like Aunty Irene!” So when Michele called I shared the story. I find these moments a way to prepare your heart for the passing of a person and Aunty Irene always made me feel welcome in her home. We had many family reunions as younger children and her ability to host was something I will always cherish. My mom Yvonne was a quiet person but if the siblings were going to get together for New Year’s celebration often at Aunty Irene’s and Uncle Ernie’s, my mom Yvonne would go with my dad Bernard all dressed up to the nines! - Posted by: MONA-LYNNE AYOTTE (NIECE) on: Jun 03, 2023
