Eleanor passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Emerson Personal Care Home on Friday, June 23, 2023.
Predeceased by her husband Henry (1999), her parents, Raymond and Marjorie Ginn, her sisters, Betty Lou and Iris and brother Glenn.
Survived by her children, Kristy Lou and Dwight (Joyce); grandchildren, Rachelle (George) and Ryan (Kirusha), and four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Tyler, Maverick and Kayden.
Eleanor was born and raised in Dominion City, MB. She married Henry on September 8, 1951, and resided and farmed in Greenridge, MB. Henry and Eleanor moved to Emerson in 1962.
Eleanor was employed by Canada Post for 30 plus years both in Greenridge and Emerson.
Eleanor lived life to its fullest in her 96 plus years. Curling bonspiels and golfing escapades will be fondly remembered by all the people she encountered and the numerous lives she touched.
The doctors, nurses and staff at the Emerson Personal Care Home took very special care of Eleanor for the last nine years of her life.
The family wishes to thank Brenda Lange and Marnie Beninger for their friendship and companionship throughout her years and especially during her time at the care home, where their frequent visits were always welcomed and uplifting for Eleanor.
Donations in memory of Eleanor’s life may be made to the Emerson Golf Club, c/o Mr. Craig Mackie, P.O. Box 272, Emerson, Manitoba R0A 0L0.
A celebration of Eleanor’s life will be held in Emerson on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at the Emerson Community Complex at 2:00 p.m.

My deepest condolences to our dear Eleanor's family. We would all love to keep this lady with us for ever as she was such a pleasure to know, but life challenges all of us at some point and that is when we have to have faith in God’s promises and say goodbye to our love ones and let them be taken care by our lord. Kristy Lou, Dwight and families, I was so sorry to hear of Eleanor’s passing. She was so kind to Dad when my Mom died. We had great times when I visited Dad and I certainly remember our last golf game together. What fun! Thinking of you.
