Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHEILA (LALA) MARGARET JOAN WARRINER
Born Sheila Aird in Elfros Saskatchewan, Sheila died peacefully at Pembina Place at the age of 102. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Jack Warriner and subsequently Norman Blackie as well as her sisters Ishbel Allin and Mona Landry, and her son-in-law Duncan Wallace. She is survived by her five children: Mary Wallace, Susan Wilkes, Jock Warriner, Peggy DeGagne and Rob Warriner, spouses Bob Wilkes, Emily Warriner, and Esther Warriner. Her 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren will all miss her.
Sheila lived a remarkable life. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan at the age of nineteen, an amazing feat for a woman on the prairies during the depression. She became a lifetime member of the United Church Women (UCW) at Young United Church, her devotion to her faith steadfast. Sheila was active in Save The Children and a charter member of Chatelaine Toastmistress Club of Manitoba. However, Lala’s heart was at West Hawk Lake and the family cottage she built with her husband Jack. She loved her special place and the wonderful summers she spent with her extended family - the focus of her life.
Many thanks for the remarkable consideration and kindness shown by the staff of Sterling House and particularly Pembina Place Personal Care Home. Donations may be made to Pembina Place where Lala spent her final days under the loving care of the entire staff and to Young United Church where Lala devoted so much of her time and energy.
Sheila’s funeral has been arranged for 11:00 a.m., September 16 at Young United Church.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

My deepest condolences to all the Warriner family and friends. I was very young when I last saw Robs Mom. But I do remember as a beautiful and thoughtful Lady. Rob was raising rabbits in the back yard and we were busy checking them out. His Mom called us in for something to eat, just like my mom would do. Sad to hear of the loss but happy that you have great memories. Daryl Rindahl friend of Rob and Esther - Posted by: Daryl Robert Rindahl (Friend of Rob & Family) on: Sep 09, 2023
