We were so blessed to have Ralph give a speech at the opening of our Wings to War Memorial, in honour of Carberry SFTS #33 (RAF). Ralph served at Carberry during WWII, and we were thrilled to have an actual veteran not only attend, but speak. Speak he did - for about 1/2 hour, without the aid of notes and at 102, just leaning a little on the podium! He made such an impact! We offer our condolences to his family. Our museum board plans to put a memorial light on the town Christmas tree in Carberry, in his memory. - Posted by: Gloria Mott (Co-chair of Carberry Plains Museum Board) on: Oct 19, 2023

I met Mr. Wild through his friendship with my late mother Audrey (Toby) MacDonald. I found him to be the engaging, friendly and full of the most wonderful tales. My mother very much enjoyed his company when he was in Texas at the trailer park in Mercedes. Mum passed at 94 and 6 months. I was pleased to see him featured in the paper both with Mr. LaPolice, Mum was also a rabid Bomber fan and attended games form 1946 until age 91, so to see Ralph out and about at 100 was wonderful. He had a true fighting spirit and I hope this carries on through the Wild generations. A good life well lived and remembered. - Posted by: Tara Martin (daughter of friend) on: Sep 13, 2023

I had the pleasure of knowing Ralph when I worked at his Retirement Residence. I remember his stories and his yearly newsletters with great fondness. Perhaps my favourite memory was when I was able to arrange for an assistant coach of the Blue Bombers to come to his 100th birthday party. That started a friendship with the LaPolice family which then included evenings at their home for dinners with players and other coaches that I was honoured to be able to attend with Ralph. Mr. Wild your spirit will shine bright for all of us who knew you. Condolences to everyone who knew him and will miss him! - Posted by: Chassity (Friend) on: Sep 09, 2023
