MARYANNE GAIL PETERS
It is with great sadness that the family of Maryanne Peters announce her passing on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at HSC at the age of 74 years.
Maryanne was predeceased by her husband Louis Smelsky, her mother Pauline, her father Peter, and her brother Mark. She is survived by her sister Joanne, her brothers Peter (Jacquie) and Greg (Lorraine), sister-in-law Charlene, nieces Elizabeth (James), Caitlin (John) and Georgia (Luke).
Maryanne lived in Gonor and Toronto, and then settled back in Winnipeg. She worked at Regent Press, along with doing government surveys and then worked at the Manitoba Nurses Union until her retirement.
Even though she suffered a stroke 12 years ago, she was able to keep working and enjoyed her simple life with her beloved dogs. Cupcake and Cookie meant the world to her. During her stay in hospital all she wanted was to get back home to her doggies.
Cremation has taken place. At Maryanne's request, the ashes of her beloved dogs who passed before her, will rest beside her.
A memorial service will be held on October 24, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Notre Dame Church, 269 Jemima Street, Selkirk, MB.
As per Maryanne's wishes, donations may be made in her memory to the Boston Terrier and Pug Rescue of Southern Manitoba.
