ANNA T. FRIESEN (nee LOEPPKY)

1929-2023

With great sadness and wonderful memories, our family announces the passing of our beloved mother. She peacefully departed from us with family by her side on October 9, 2023 at the age of 94. Mom was born in the RM of Hanover on July 22, 1929 to Henry and Anna Loeppky. She is predeceased by her husband, Erdman and son, Gerry in addition to all of her siblings. She is survived by her children Shirley (Bob), Lenora (Laurie), Edna (Bill), Stanley (Brenda), Dennis (Kim), Angela (Ian), Carol (Jamie), and Rene (Hilda), as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and her special friends Rick and Hennie.
Mom enjoyed cooking and baking, tending to her enormous gardens on the farm, and spending time at the lake.
We will cherish our many memories of mom, especially when she would tease the grandkids with her crooked finger, and dress up as the Easter Bunny while they chased her around the farm yard. She will be dearly missed.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Bethesda Hospital and Korban Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart & Stroke and/or Cancer Care.
By Mom’s request, there will be a private viewing and burial for the immediate family.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • We both met Mrs. Friesen "Mom" many years ago while she still lived on the farm stead in Steinbach. When I met everyone who was at the house there was one person missing so I asked Lenora where her mother was. She was in the backyard exercising on a full size trampoline. I'm not sure of the year but she was at least 60 plus at the time and having the time of her life as she laughed, jumped and held a conversation with me. She never sat still since then. "Mom", Sean and I considered you one of the most interesting , fun-filled persons we have ever met and are so happy for you having led a healthy and fulfilling life. I just know that you have left many great memories among your family members. You certainly did with us. God Bless and Keep you in His Grace and I just know that there is a special trampoline in Heaven that you have already tested. With Love. - Posted by: Rick Dolenuck/Sean Dolenuck (Family Friends) on: Oct 19, 2023
