"Raymonaas", a lifelong resident of Poplar River First Nation, passed away in the place he called home on October 28, 2023.
Born in Poplar River on January 28, 1955, his strong connection to the community and those he loved within it were a hallmark of his life. In his final days, he was tenderly cared for by his devoted grandson, Keifer.
Survived by many who loved and cherished him, including the mother of his children, Marjorie, and his children, Cameron (Florence), Kelsey (Arson), Reynold (Sheena), Sandy (Bridget), and Crewin. His memory is also cherished by his brothers Jerry, Perrault (Victoria), Ernest (Joslin), and Leslie, as well as sisters Rebekah (Pierre), Yvonne, and Donalda. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, and grandchildren who were deeply touched by his presence in their lives.
He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Kathleen (Robinson). He also mourned the loss of his daughter Erica Faye, brother Willard, and sister Bella, who he now joins in the peaceful beyond.
A celebration of Raymond's life will be held at Bread of Life, located at 1336 Main Street in Winnipeg, on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The service will continue at Poplar River on Sunday and Monday from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Raymond's funeral and burial will take place on Tuesday, commencing at 9:00 a.m. and concluding at 12:00 p.m. Pallbearers for the service will be Hubert, Don, Preston, Isaiah, Marcel, and Garry.
The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sanderson Funeral Home, 1336 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB.
