MARTHA ANNE MOFFAT
When you are reading this, you will know I’ve slipped my earthly bonds and am at peace.
Life if beautiful and I have had the time and opportunity to enjoy it’s many gifts: the wonders of nature, gardening, travel, literature, beach walks, music, friends and winters in Mexico. At the heart of it has always been the love of my beautiful family, who gave me constant joy.
Twenty-five years as a teacher at Rockwood and Chancellor gave me the joy of watching children grow and develop, meet wonderful parents and colleagues who became life long friends.
I leave to mourn my passing, my best friend and husband, Tom of fifty-plus years; precious children, Lisa (Darrel), Ian (Sabrina); and dearest grandson Ben. Left to remember me as well are my siblings, Ed (Connie) Wieler, Jake (Debbie) Wieler, Carol Sylvester, Kathy (Eldon) Smith, Nancy (Randy) McFarlane; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend Valli.
Cremation has taken place and in accordance with my wishes, there will be no formal service.
Heartfelt thanks to Nurse Shawna, Dr. Daeninck, Dr. Ogaranko, and the kind and compassionate treatment team at the Buhler Cancer Center. If friends so desire, a donation to the Center or CancerCare would be deeply appreciated.

My friend, Martha, was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. We met while teaching together at Rockwood School, early in our careers and became lifelong friends. I especially remember when Lisa and Ian, being young children, and Martha and Tom would come to our house along with several other young families, to visit around Christmas. It was hectic, but enjoyed by all. I will miss Martha greatly, even though we haven't seen each other in some time. Condolences to her family. Dearest Martha, my beautiful sister and dear, dear friend. Like you say, life is beautiful and I feel truly blessed you were in mine. I will always remember and treasure you in my heart, holding you close to me. Thank you for always being there for me and my family; celebrating the good times and lending a listening, caring ear through the tough times. You always put others and me first. I will miss you so dreadfully but it gives me great comfort knowing you had a good life and loving family. I also know you are now at peace. You will always be treasured in my heart and never forgotten. Every bird, butterfly, flower and the beauty of nature will remind me of you, our love and our friendship. Love always, Carol - Posted by: Carol Sylvestre (sister) on: Dec 09, 2023

My deepest condolences to the Moffat family. Mrs Moffat was my grade 5 teacher, she was my favourite during the elementary years. She was kind and helpful to all of her students. I remember her smile as you entered her classroom. I was very fortunate to have her as a teacher. Rest in peace Mrs Moffat. - Posted by: Emira Acquisto (Student at Rockwood school ) on: Dec 09, 2023
