It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother and aunt, Stanislawa Rudnyk, on Tuesday, January 30 at the age of 86 years.
Stanislawa was born in Wojciehowka, Ukraine on January 1, 1938. Because of war the family relocated to Poland. She came to Canada in 1966. Settling in Winnipeg, living with her sister Joyce. At her sisters, she met her husband William, they married in May of 1967 and welcomed their only child MaryAnne in 1969. Unfortunately, William passed away in December of 1981. Left a widow at the age of 43 with a young child to raise. Mom worked hard and ensured her child was always taken care of and that she had opportunities better than she had.
Stanislawa was extremely religious and devout woman. She was a long-time member of Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Cathedral. Even during Covid and during her illness, every Sunday she would watch the service via YouTube.
Stanislawa was predeceased by her husband William Rudnyk, numerous siblings, in-laws, and other extended family.
Stanislawa leaves to mourn her only daughter MaryAnne. Her sisters, Maria Stefanyshyn and Aniela Kupczak. In Canada her nephews, Miroslaw (Jadwiga), Harry (Marika) and grandnieces, Maggie (Jesse) and Lida (Mike). Her grandnephews, Greg, Stefan (Karen) and Andriy (Michelle). Her great-grandnephews and nieces, Lawson, Sarah, Katya, Mia, Liam, Mila, and Rose.
She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family in Poland and Ukraine.
We would like to thank the staff of Poseidon Personal Care Home for their kind and compassionate care.
The funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Cathedral, 115 McGregor Street. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations maybe made in Stanislawa’s memory to the Alzheimer Society or to St. Volodymyr and Olha Cathedral.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have many wonderful memories of your mom as we were growing up. At the West Kildonan C.C. playground then from Kindergarten at Victory School through to our graduation from GCCI. Your mom made sure we knew we were always welcome at the house on Hartford. It was my favourite place to hang out. One memory that stands out was the blizzard of November 1986. The drifts at McGregor & Jefferson were up to my hips. I had to crawl and slide on top of the snow but I managed to make my way to your place. Sending my heart felt condolences to the entire family, especially you, Mary Anne. May your memories be the beautiful gifts that bless you with healing and fill you with peace. - Posted by: Kathy (Gambrel) Burnham (Friend) on: Mar 04, 2024
