Joan Blanchard (nee Zuk) of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, just short of her 94th birthday.
Joan leaves behind her sons, David (Bing) and Peter (Veronica); grandchildren, Michael, Sherry, Sarah (Tim), and Ryan (Christina); as well as her brother William (Susan). She was predeceased by her husband Nick; her parents, Mike and Jesse Zuk; and her brother Byron.
Her greatest joy was spending time and spoiling her grandchildren and spending numerous summers at Grand Marias with the Central Avenue gang.
As per Joan’s request, a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice or have a glass of wine in her memory.
In living memory of Joan Blanchard, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes.
