VIRGINIA DO CARMO CERQUEIRA

March 9, 1930 - August 3, 2024

Virginia (Gina) passed due to complications while receiving treatment at the St. Boniface Hospital. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at St. Bonface Hospital that worked so tirelessly to help Gina. Gina was accompanied by her immediate family at the time of her passing. We were all grateful for the opportunity to keep her company in her last few hours at the Palliative Care ward.

Gina’s family: Daughters, Elizabeth (Peter Penner) and Patricia (Alex Vieira); and son Alberto (Sandra, nee Berti); grandchildren: Paul Vieira (Tamara nee Frampton), Christina (Justin Olfert), Anthony (Sarah Higgins) and Daniel Cerqueira; great-grandchildren: Jordan, Benjamin, Abigail, Jadyn, and Sienna, miss their mother, grandmother and great-grandma and pray for her in heaven. Gina is survived by her sister Clarinda (John Martins) and their daughter Virginia (Manuel Goncalves).

Gina was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Antonio (Ton’). Gina met her life companion at the age of one month in her home village of Oleiros, Portugal. She is looking forward to meeting up with him again.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Palliative Care Ward at St. Boniface Hospital.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street.
