ELVA SINCLAIR

(nee SANDERSON)

March 9, 1953 - August 4, 2024

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elva Sinclair on August 4, 2024, at the age of 71.

Elva is survived by her husband of 54 years Earl Sinclair; daughter Roslynn Sinclair; stepdaughter Bev Neilson; sister Sarah Miller (Jeff); stepsister Sandy Sanderson; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews.

Elva was predeceased by her mother Grace Maser (nee Sanderson); infant brother Clarence Sanderson; sister Rebecca Maser; daughters, Bonnie Anderson, Roberta Disbrowe; and grandsons, Adam Sinclair, Donnelly Disbrowe; and granddaughter Hannah Sinclair.

Over the years Elva worked in various jobs as a case Aide for Child and Family Services, a Band Administrator and in Economic Development with Little Saskatchewan First Nation.

Elva’s Christian faith kept her strong in good times and in hard times. Elva loved the Lord and believed in the Bibles promise “there will be a resurrection to everlasting life”. She loved attending church and hearing the word of God.

Elva enjoyed driving anywhere and everywhere. Elva would make round trips a few times a week to Winnipeg from Little Saskatchewan First Nation. She would also make spontaneous trips to Regina and Saskatoon to spend time with her sister, Rebecca and family.

Thank you to all that came to visit Elva at St. Boniface Hospital, it broke up her time to have prayers and visits with those she loved. Thank you to the physicians and nurses for the compassionate care Elva received, especially to nurse, Shelly (ICU) on Elva’s finial day. A special thanks to Mary-Jane Sinclair, Debbie Hudson (cousin) and Florence Sanderson (cousin) for always being a good friend and support to Elva. And last but not least, thank you to Chief and Counsel of Little Saskatchewan First Nation for all their support.

A Wake Service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will occur on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at Little Saskatchewan River of Life Church with interment to follow at St. Helen’s Cemetery at Fairford First Nation.
