ADRIAN JOHN ASHLEY

Adrian passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 11, 2024.

He was predeceased by his parents, Myrt and Bruce Ashley; and older brother Robert.

Left to mourn his loss are his sister Sue Ashley; brother Wayne Ashley; and niece Lauren Ashley-Vaughan.

Adrian struggled with mental illness all of his adult life. But despite the obstacles thrown in his path, he nevertheless managed to obtain many academic credentials including a diploma in electronics from Red River Community College (formerly the Manitoba Institute of Technology) and a Fine Arts Degree from the University of Manitoba. Adrian was born with a natural talent in art, creating many paintings during his lifetime.

Adrian’s family would like to especially thank his physician, Dr. Sheldon Permack, who provided excellent care both as a physician and a compassionate human being.

There will be a private family Celebration of Life at a future date.

The family requests that friends visit Adrian Ashley's tribute wall at www.bardal.ca where condolences, photos and stories may be placed for all to see.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • So, sorry to learn of Adrian’s passing. Adrian and I rode motorcycles together in the 60s. His Harley was the nicest/newest of our group of 5. We often rode together. On one occasion I remember he had his saxophone in his motorcycle saddlebag, and he met me at my workplace. He played a new tune he had learned (Louie Louie), on the sidewalk as my coworkers watched. He was the only person to come to our wedding on a motorcycle. At that time he didn’t like cars. We drifted apart over the years but I have often thought of him. If you were his friend, he was a very loyal friend to you. Terry Turcan West Kelowna BC - Posted by: Terry Turcan (Friend) on: Aug 18, 2024
