Eleanor Lindwall was born Dorothy Eleanor Jentsch, to parents, Ernst and Martha and was the baby sister to Gerald and Ernie.
She was proud to grow up in Winnipeg’s North End. In her teen years, the family began spending time in the Whiteshell where her dad and brothers built many cottages. They built their own cottage at Star Lake in 1950. She loved spending time there over the years. She married Ray Lindwall in 1953 and they had three children together. After they divorced in 1969, Eleanor went to work full time at the Department of Motor Vehicles which later became M.P.I. where she worked until her retirement. Over the years she belonged to the Jazz Society and had many friends and outings with their group. She also enjoyed bowling with her brother Ernie at the German Club.
Eleanor was very proud of her children and grandchildren and was very happy to have a great-grandchild. She will be remembered by her children: daughter Sandy (Dave) McGonigal and children, Martha (Alex) and Kari (Joel); daughter Karen (Jeff) Preston and children, Melanie (Colton) and Mitchell; and son Gord (Mona) Lindwall and children, Rachelle (Nick), their son Hunter and Curtis (Sharra).
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 19 at 1:00 p.m. in Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.

I am so sorry to read this. I remember fondly so many great summers at Star Lake. Even though we had lost touch for a long period of time I will cherish those memories. Eleanor was a lovely lady. Deepest heartfelt condolences the family and friends. - Posted by: Sandi McTavish (Family friend) on: Sep 16, 2024

I remember looking forward to family weddings and anniversaries as a kid because that’s when I would get to see my “city cousins” and it always made the event seem extra special. Rest in peace Eleanor. - Posted by: Leanne Urbanski (Cousin) on: Sep 15, 2024
