It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Dr. Pawel Garda, a beloved son, friend, brother, and colleague. Born in Winnipeg to Marianna and Michal Garda, on December 29, 1994, he was raised with his beloved sister, Agniezka Wrotynska (née Garda), and brother, Piotr Garda.
Pawel overcame adversity in his younger years, finding success at St. Paul’s High School where he met, and subsequently lived with, the Woodward family who helped raise him into the man he became. Through his intellect and resolve, Pawel achieved admission to medical school and later, residency in Internal Medicine. His compassion and dedication shaped his success in medicine, the respect of his peers, and allowed him to build meaningful relationships with those around him.
Pawel will be remembered for his loud, warm laugh, his unwavering loyalty, and the gourmet meals that he loved to share with his loved ones. His infectious energy and drive to explore new pursuits led to many amazing adventures with the people who meant the most to him. His passing leaves a void that will be felt by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 27 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Paul Albrechtsen MultiPlex at St Paul’s High School.
