(WM) BRIAN HANSON
Following a brief illness, Dad passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
He will be greatly missed by son Glen (Leslie), Scott, Eva (Reinhardt), Anders (Haley and Summer), Mats (Alex), daughter Kris (Brian) Wood, Steven (Alexandra and Abigail), Jillian; also brother-in-law Drake Millar and family. Brian was predeceased by his loving wife Pat in 2016, parents, Oscar and Jean, and sister Kellie.
Dad was a lifelong resident of EK where he and Mom married and raised their family. He was an active member of the sports community, curling at Elmwood; also playing and coaching both hockey and soccer at Bronx Park. Brian was a plasterer by trade, initially working with his father followed by a long career with the Winnipeg School Division. He valued the company of his friends including the 'Knights of the Round Table'.
Grandpa was incredibly proud of all of his grandchildren and had a special relationship with each and every one of them.
We wish to thank ACCU 5th floor St. Boniface Hospital for the kindness and care shown to Dad.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Rossmere Golf and Country Club, 925 Watt St.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation.

Brian was a truly caring friend, over the years he helped many of school division employees with renovations to their homes. He did the stucco on our home, and payment was nice cold beer when work was done. His knowledge of hockey stats and history was amazing. Over the years we have thought of him fondly as well as the love of his life Patty. They will rekindle that love. His children and grandchildren made him consider himself a very lucky man. Our condolences to the family for the loss of your Dad and Grandfather. - Posted by: Richard & Diane Holden (Worked & friend of Brian) on: Jan 11, 2025

We had the pleasure of working and socializing with Brian (a.k.a. “The 55 year old Swede”). His sense of humor and respect for all in his presence ensured all visits were enjoyable. His love for “Part time” Patti and his family was always apparent and we extend our condolences for your loss. Cheers Brian!
