On Sunday, January 26, 2025 mom passed away after a short case of the flu.
Predeceased by her parents, Bill and Marie Phiilips and sister and best friend Connie Moorhead; cousins, Joyce Maryk, Arthur Serediuk, great-aunt Jessie Serediuk, and sister in-law Margaret Rayter.
Rose will be missed and loved forever by her son Bill (wife Susan) and grandson Dane; daughter Joyelle, and grandchildren Alistor, Ashley and Nicole (partner Jeremey); great-grandchildren, Haydon, Lily, Ivy Rose and Ryland.
Also mourning is her brother Ronald; brother in-law Llyod; nephew Richard (grand-niece Daniele and grand-nephew Gage), niece Kim (husband Paul) and grand-nieces Alyssa (husband Jaryn and their kids, Ridley-Rose and Clementine) and Abbey (partner Jeff and their kids, Jaxon and Kolton), second niece Darlene (Cody, Ariel and her daughter Neveah), brother in-law Barry, nephew Jason, niece Kelly, nephew Scott and Dave and Marilyn.
Mom grew up in Elmwood and went to Lord Selkirk school and Tech Voc. After marrying Dave and welcoming their son Bill the family moved to Fort Garry where they welcomed their daughter Joy. Then moved to Sydney Nova Scotia, St John’s Newfoundland, then back to East Kildonan and finally back to the house she grew up in Elmwood so she could care for her father next door. It is there that she cultivated a large flower and vegetable garden and loved sitting out on the deck.
After a very healthy life she developed Alzheimer’s/Dementia and spent ten years at Beacon Hill Lodge and succumbed to influenza. We can’t thank the staff enough for all the love and care they gave mom especially Susannah!
As per her wishes, mom was cremated, and this summer family will gather and spread her ashes at Winnipeg Beach. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
Mom you are back with your family and pets and have that sharp mind back, we love you and miss you.
