With heartfelt sadness we share the loss of our beloved wife and mother, Janice Clegg (nee Fjeldsted), who passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Calgary’s Rockyview General Hospital.
Born in Winnipeg, MB, to Thorey and Asgeir Fjeldsted, she was raised enjoying many proud Icelandic traditions. After graduating from Pierre Radisson Collegiate in 1973, Janice started her career with CP Rail. She first worked in the Law Department and later in Public Relations. While working for CP Rail, she met Paul, her husband of 35 years. They were married in 1990, and shortly after started a family.
Upon moving to Calgary, AB, in 1996, she raised her family and numerous dogs, while also working part-time to support her passions of gardening and sewing. Nothing pleased her more than being surrounded by family and friends.
Janice is survived by her husband Paul, daughter Catherine (Andrew), son John (Anita), brother John (Clara), sister Ingrid (Norm) and nieces and nephews. Janice was predeceased by her parents, Thorey and Asgeir, and parents-in-law, Peter and Frances Clegg.
Her family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to her exceptional health care team, including Dr. M. Drybrough, the staff of Unit #73 at Rockyview General Hospital, and the Foothills Palliative Care team.
A Celebration of Janice’s Life was held on Friday, February 14, 2025.
