Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEN (BERNARD) COLLETTE
Ben passed away December 7, 2024, while in care at Oakview Place, Extendicare. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019 and had been fighting this terrible disease. Ben was pre-deceased by his parents, Léo and Aurore (Duguay) and one sibling, Léo Jr.
Ben is survived by his wife, Carmen (Guyon); four siblings, Danielle, Nicole, Michelle (André) and Mario (Monelle); along with several nieces and nephews.
The caregivers at Oakview were extremely conscientious in giving Ben the care he required and were excellent at keeping us informed of his situation. We are grateful to them for their attention.
A small private family memorial will be held later in the spring.

Ben coached me for 2 years in juvenile. He was a great coach and just a wonderful man. I remember his intensity and I'll never forget him ripping off a shirt to reveal another t-shirt, after we beat the Hawkeyes, that read, "I saw the St. Vital Mustangs trample the Winnipeg Hawkeyes", to win the provincial championship in 1973. I'm so sorry to his family for your loss. - Posted by: Tim Picken (Football player) on: Mar 22, 2025

Ben was my football coach when I played with the St Boniface Paladins and the St Boniface Colts. I also remember hanging out at his restaurant, Ben’s Paladin through high school. He was a no nonsense guy and was an early mentor of mine, Condolences to the family. RIP. - Posted by: Brian Tascona (Football player) on: Mar 22, 2025
