LORNE BENTLEY JAQUES

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle on May 13, 2025, at the age of 62, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Lorne will be deeply missed by his wife Svetlana, his children, Anna and Norris, his sister Pat, his brother Bob (Bonnie) and sister-in-law Susan, as well as many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his friends and extended family.

He was predeceased by his father Walter, mother Marjorie, and brother Dave and brother-in-law Joe.

A celebration of Lorne’s life will be held on May 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Seasons Funeral Chapel in Oakbank, Manitoba.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba in Lorne’s memory, to support cancer research and those affected by it.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the kind staff at Selkirk Cancer Care as well as Dr. Brown for providing such wonderful care to Lorne.

Lorne’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

  • I like to express my heartfelt sympathy to you, Svetlana, Anna and Norris. I would meet Lorne in the community or grocery store. He would be quick to share a story or anecdote about his family, always with a smile and a twinkle in his eye. He will be sorely missed - Posted by: Sherry Oger (Former coworker of his wife) on: May 28, 2025

  • Lorne was our neighbour at the lake. They have built a beautiful place here. Lorne showed pride in the workmanship of the construction of his home. Even though we have only known Lorne and his family for a short time, he left a lasting impression with us. Our heartfelt condolences to Svetlana, Norris, Anna and all those who knew him. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Claude Berard (neighbour) on: May 27, 2025
